Poe Mill Music

Poe Mill Music opened in 2025 out of a former body shop that owner Brice Smith almost tore down before he realized the bones were worth keeping. Smith, a businessman who moonlights as a drummer in Pop a Cold One and the Tennessee Whiskeys, built it with longtime friend Jason Nodine into something genuinely serious: a recording studio with no right angles anywhere to kill echo, three layers of Sheetrock in every wall, doors that lead nowhere just to control sound, all wrapped around a 100-person listening room. The stated goal was to build a real artist community centered on local musicians, not chasing touring acts, and the booking has followed through on that: singer-songwriters, jazz, folk, and residencies that build a relationship with an act instead of a one-off.
