The Why

Why Reedy Signal:

I am a man of routine. Every morning I get up, doom scroll for 30 minutes, saddle up my 12-year-old dog, Rain, and drive to Unity Park to see how far she wants to walk. Living in West Greenville, that drive takes less than five minutes.

Every morning I play a little game. I turn on 93.3 and see how long it takes for the Rise Guys to say something that makes me cringe hard enough to turn it off. But what else is there? Four country stations cycling through the same 12 songs? I lost count of how many times I complained about it — enough to know I was becoming annoying.

But what could I do? Create a radio station? Who even knows how to do that?

Well, I do….now. After more hours on Google than I care to admit, turns out it's pretty hard. An online station, though — a local one that could represent something outside the top 40, something that could actually lift the musicians and artists already doing incredible work in this city — that's a little difficult, too. But not impossible.

So what can I do right now? I can take a step. I can build something that isn't AI-generated filler or a Pinterest board pretending to have a personality.

The radio station is still the goal. That will happen. But here is what I can do today: create a place for people who are from here, people who moved here, and the creators who are trying to carve out something real in Greenville. I want to hear from them. I want you to hear from them.

I am not an expert. I am not an influencer. I am not trying to sell you a house. I'm just a guy.

Together, we are Reedy Signal.
